FUN FACT
When it was first developed, Wildewood was home to two polo fields, with games played on Sunday afternoons. People would come from all over the state to have a picnic and watch the matches.

WHAT’S IN A NAME
The name Wildewood originated in Memphis, Tennessee, when developer Heath Manning, who also was a polo player, came across a subdivision with the same name that included polo fields, horse stables, a golf course, and a country club. Many of the street names in Columbia’s Wildewood are the same as Wildewood of Memphis.
