Why is an HOA important?

What kind of HOA is WildeWood V?
WildeWood V is a self-managed HOA incorporated under the SC NonProfit Corporation Act and proud of it. Day-to-day operations, administration, and decision-making processes are managed and executed by the homeowner volunteers, without the involvement of a professional management company. In our self-managed HOA, residents volunteer and are elected to serve on the board of directors, taking on various responsibilities to oversee the community's affairs. This is a major cost savings to all homeowners when annual fees are assessed.
How can I help support the WildeWood V Homeowners Association?
Homeowners can play a crucial role in supporting their homeowners' association (HOA) by actively engaging in community initiatives and adhering to established guidelines. One way to contribute is by attending HOA meetings, where residents can voice their opinions, share concerns, and collaborate on decision-making processes. How are HOA fees determined, and what do they cover?
HOA fees are determined based on the budget required to maintain common areas, provide services, and cover operational expenses. These fees may include landscaping, security, trash removal, and other community amenities. The vast majority (80%) of the HOA fees paid go directly to supporting the operations & maintenance of the neighborhood club The Wildewood Club.
- Full use of the Club pool by the Members and their families and registered guests, provided a Member is present with the guest, during regular posted operating hours.
- Use of the clubhouse
- Access to six (6) rounds of golf per year, further limited to no more than one (1) round in any given month, Monday through Thursday, for a published unaccompanied guest rate.
- Similar access to tennis facilities six (6) one-hour sessions per year.
- Walking privledges on paved cart path before 8 a.m. and after 8 p.m.
- Access to Club events
What benefits and perks does The Wildewood Club offer to HOA Members?
In addition to the support of property values and maintaining the character and quality of the WildeWood Neighborhood each Member of the Associations shall be entitles to a Social Membership in the Club. The terms of the Social Membership shall include, at a minimum the following rights and benefits, subject to the rules and regulations published by the Club:
How do I submit an architectural request for exterior changes to my property?
Members of the association can obtain approval for projects and additions at
Architectural Request Forms | WildeWood V Homeowners Association, Inc. These requests will be reviewed for a fee of $200 for additions and $150 for pools and fences paid via credit/debit when the request is submitted. A letter of recommendation is provided by the association's community partner Edify Design a professional architect. and the board votes on the recommendation. The average request is approved anywhere from 20-30 days depending on complexity. Requests for paint color scheme changes or identical replacements of roofs and windows and other exterior changes not including structure additions, pools and fences will be reviewed by the board at no cost. Bottom line, just ask!
Is there an APPROVED ‘FOR SALE’ SIGN when I list my home?
Yes, custom signage is required. No other ‘For Sale’ signs are permitted.

How do I make my contact information visible in the Directory?
Easy. Under your profile click "Directory Preferences" and select "Yes" from the drop down box.
How can I get involved in the HOA?
Members can get involved by attending annual meetings, volunteering for committees, or running for a position on the HOA board. Your participation is vital to shaping the future of our community and ensuring that it continues to thrive. Contact the Board of Directors using the Contact Us Page or seek out one of the current board directors. The best time of the year to get involved and volunteer is December through January before the annual meeting.
I have a neighbor dispute can the HOA intervene?
If the dispute does not directly involve the HOA, we encourage the parties to remain civil and talk it out in a neutral environment without our involvement. Most disputes if both parties remain calm and respectful, or with the guidance of a professional mediator will resolve amicably. Where the HOA is more beneficial and we ask for notification is when Quid Pro Quo “this for that” related to housing or hostile environment harassment occurs, especially if it's due to race or color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, or disability.
Who do I call if I have a complaint with a county service?
After attempting to resolve the matter with the specific county department, we recommend you contact the Ombudsman Office, they are an impartial dispute resolutioner. You can call them at 803-929-6000.

Can you inform me about the third-party payment processor policies and safeguards?
Stripe retains that personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws, and additional sector-specific rules, that apply to Stripe. Transaction records, charges and invoices would still be present and retained on the account for historical purposes.
As a provider of payment services, Stripe is also required to comply with anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering laws. These laws require Stripe to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies businesses and persons to whom they provide services and to retain associated records for at least five years after the close of the customer relationship.
